Entry forms for secondary schools now free, Oyo govt declares

The Governor of Oyo state, His Excellency, Seyi Makinde has directed that entry forms into all public science and junior secondary schools in the state be made free from now on.

A statement signed by Mr. Taiwo Adisa, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, and made available to newsmen on Tuesday in Ibadan said Governor Makinde has issued a directive to the State Head of Service, Mrs Amidat Agboola, to ensure that placement/screening exercise forms for students into Junior Secondary Schools is free.

The directive also indicated that Schools of Science registration and admission forms are free for all indigenes of the state.

The directive was not unconnected with the governor’s effort to fulfill his electioneering campaign promise to promote free and quality education to all citizens of Oyo state.

“Gov. Makinde appealed to stakeholders to co-operate with his administration to ensure that the state assumes its pacesetter status in the education sector,” part of the statement said.

The governor also directed that fees earlier paid by the categories of students mentioned above be immediately refunded by the management of the respective schools.
